Understanding credits
How ShopOS credits work, what uses them, and how to check your balance.
Updated July 19, 2026
ShopOS runs on credits. This article explains what they are and how they're used, at a level that matters for your day-to-day. For plan-specific numbers and the full transaction ledger, see the shopos.ai/pricing page.
What credits are
Credits are ShopOS's single unit of usage across all agents and Spaces.
The two credit types
Your total credit balance is made up of two separate pools:
- Monthly credits: your plan's main allocation, shown as a fraction (used / total) and reset each billing cycle (month).
- Add-on credits: anything you've purchased on top of your plan's monthly allocation (can be used if you have an active subscription).
Your total balance is the sum of both.
What uses credits
- Creative Director: generating a new creative or a new variant
- Performance Marketing: campaign actions consume credits per action, confirmed, not a flat monthly allocation
- AI Visibility: running a GEO audit or refreshing tracked prompts
- Spaces / SpaceLab: building and running a Space reserves an estimated credit cost upfront, then adjusts to the real cost once the action finishes, either refunding the difference or charging a small overage
Checking your balance
- Go to Settings > Usage.
- You'll see your plan name, renewal date, and total credits, broken into Free, Monthly, and Add-on.
- Below that, a history table (Details, Date, Credits change) shows every credit event as it happens.
What happens when you run low
ShopOS will warn you in-app before you run out. If you hit zero:
- New generation, campaign actions, audit requests, or Space runs pause until you top up or your next billing cycle starts.
