Set up AI Visibility

Full navigation map for AI Visibility, custom domain setup, and Overview dashboard guide.

Updated July 19, 2026

AI Visibility's left navigation has six groups, more than the tracking-only version this article used to describe. This maps every section to what it actually does.

The AI Visibility nav, mapped

Open AI Visibility from the Agents list. Its left panel has:

Analysis

  • AI Visibility, your core visibility metrics
  • Content Traffic, traffic driven by published content
  • Brands, your tracked competitor set

Actions

  • Actions, the running list of recommended next steps - Earned (third party actions) and Owned (blogs)

Content

  • Publish Content, where generated content actually gets published
  • Writing Rules, style and voice rules applied to generated content

Assets

  • Prompts, the tracked prompt set from setup, editable after the fact

Knowledge

  • Products, your catalog as AI Visibility understands it
  • Brand Context, positioning and info specific to this agent

Settings

  • Blog Management - Custom domain setup
  • Configure - Model selection

Connecting a custom domain (why it matters)

The Overview dashboard's first "Action to take" is almost always Connect a custom domain, with the note "Content can't publish until your domain is verified." This is a hard gate: AI Visibility can track and recommend without it, but nothing it generates can actually publish until a domain is connected and verified.

  1. From the Overview dashboard, click Connect next to "Connect a custom domain."
  2. Follow the verification steps for your domain provider.

Overview dashboard, explained

Beyond the setup wizard, the Overview dashboard is where you land every time and shows:

  • Prompts tracked: total questions being watched across AI engines
  • Actions to take: commonly starting with connecting a domain, generating your first content, covering prompts that don't have content yet, and teaching AI Visibility your brand voice (writing style)
  • A health status row: whether topics are up to date, how many brands you're comparing, and whether there are new opportunities
  • An Ask Big Head input at the bottom for direct questions
